Bernadine Rees (RIW Chair) and Dr Philip Webb, CEO were at Haverford West Rugby ground to officially launch the RIW Mobile Respiratory Unit.

The unit is operating with the support of Hywel Dda University Health Board, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, Life Sciences Hub Wales, EMS Healthcare, and partners. This innovative approach is helping cut waiting times and access to treatment for respiratory services that were impacted by COVID-19.

The unit will be appearing in several locations throughout South and West Wales and will allow patients to receive treatment closer to home.

Patients attend by appointment and interest has been high. Staff Nurse Marion Davies told us that “Patients really enjoy it because there are no parking problems, and we can move around and to get closer to them.”
